Breathtaking views, challenging terrain, and captivating wilderness, set the scene for this 12 hour race of challenge and adventure. Join us in honoring and commemorating a dear friend, fellow adventure racer, and fellow search and rescue instructor, who died while training a few years ago. Krista spent many years training and instructing at the Civil Air Patrol’s Search and Rescue School based at Hawk Mountain, PA. Proceeds from the race will go to benefit that volunteer school. Teams of 2 to 3 racers will face the seemingly unending challenges of Hawk Mountain including: rugged terrain, lots of elevation changes, and awesome scenery.
Approximate distances……
- 20 miles of trekking and orienteering
- 5 miles of paved biking
- 14 miles of mountain biking
- 7 miles of canoe paddling
- Rappelling and fun team challenges!

- This is a spectator friendly race!!
- Racing teams can get involved in helping defray their race costs and raise money for The Civil Air Patrol all at the same time!
- For each $100 the racer raises, $10 will be subtracted from their registration fee!
- You could race for free!
- All proceeds and pledge money will go to the Pennsylvania Wing Civil Air Patrol Search and Rescue Program.
- Racing for this great cause is both rewarding for participants, volunteers, spectators, and sponsors.

DIRECTIONS
The Civil Air Patrol base is located near Interstate 78, half way between Harrisburg and Allentown. From Interstate 78 get off at Exit #34 (old Exit #11) Lenhartsville-PA Route 143. Turn north (left) on PA Route 143 and proceed approximately 5 miles to an intersection that has a Sonoco gas station. Turn left onto Hawk Mountain Road. In about 100 yards the road forks, stay to the left. Stay on this road for approximately 10 minutes (3 miles). Turn left onto Pine Swamp Road. School is 1 mile down on the left hand side road.

- Masters Division (combined team age of 120 years for team of 3)

RIZES
The 1st place coed team of 3 will receive $500 toward the USARA National Adventure Racing Championships. The top 3 finishing coed teams of 3 are eligible to compete in the national championships. Various gear prizes and medals will be awarded at the race, with the top prize going to those teams in the 3 person co-ed gender divisions.
PRE-RACE CLINICS:
Pre- race clinics will be offered beginning January 2009.
