Fishing
I reeled him in!! My friend Matt on the bike that is. Today we were doing a long ride from my house-great roads, quiet, lots of hills throughout. My goal was to stay with Matt as long as possible. I have never been able to stay with him for long, but I am determined to push myself harder on the bike this year.
The first 25 miles or so went pretty well and I was right with him-working hard but not blowing up. Slowly he got futher ahead, but I could still see him. The he was out of sight. Thankfully, at our usually stopping place I learned I wasn’t far behind him. Even when he was out of sight I still rode pretty steady.
Then it happened….with about 15 miles left I saw him ahead-and I was gaining. Through a series of hills I got closer and closer and I caught him. I think he was surprised to see me. He said he was getting tired, and I was feeling good! And we rode together until the end
My goal for next time-he is not getting out of my sight. Thanks Matt for the push on a great ride.
Best church sign of the day: “God answers all knee-mails”
Worst moment of the day: when someone from a truck threw something at me
