Blazing Saddles or Bust
Blazing Saddles ride today. I LOVE this route-relentless hills, quiet roads and blazing hot in the summer (hence the name). It’s our hidden little secret for tons of climbing. I met 3 good friends/training partners at the school where we start. We were all getting ready and I put on my Team cycling jersey and the conversation went:
Robyn: I love that color green
Nicki: yes, it’s great.
Robyn: Look! Her hair tie matches her jersey! (Well of COURSE!)
Steve: Nice to see you in something besides purple
Hey-don’t knock my purple-it looks great with Trakkers green, and I have some cute little Saucony purple shoes as my pre-ride/race shoes
And off we went, hill after hill after hill, and winds blowing like crazy (and if they moan I say “good training!!”), and I loved every minute. How could I not? Smoking bike, cool duds, the best sports fuel on the planet, and of course, awesome friends.
By the way, Carole-are these magic bike shorts?? My legs worked better today than they have in weeks!
Post ride it was off to the pool for a water run-yes boring, but better than no-run.
Now it’s margarita time-wahoo! I hear it’s the “unofficial team drink”. Thankfully, my husband makes great ones.
Is it just a coincidence that limes are green too???
