Who/what shares your home with you: At home it is just me and my 2 retired greyhounds – Hoss and Bud.

Years in triathlon:

3

Where do you stand on coffee:

I stand in line, waiting for my turn to order an Americano, or the occasional peppermint mocha.

Favorite race:

Probably the Pigman Sprint in Palo, IA. I raced it in 2009 and placed in my AG for the first time ever!

What’s one trait that you hate about yourself:

I’m kind of a slob at home – piles of stuff here and there. Clothes, gear, magazines, mail. I really wish I could afford a maid. But you should see my transition area – simple, neat and tidy. Nothing in excess – very efficient. Go figure…

Favorite pre-race food:

Frozen waffles w/ Jiff peanut butter

Chocolate or salted chips?

Both – at the same time, please!!!

Triathlon goals for 2010:

For 2010, I’m really going to focus on my cycling. It’s been my weakness since I started in the sport. I’ve avoided the hillier courses, but this year that will change.

Advice you would give to a new triathlete:

Don’t put too much pressure on yourself! Enjoy the race and everything it has to offer. Pick one thing to be your goal for that race and focus on that. Let everything else fall into place. Also, the quickest way to put on socks is to have them rolled up like a doughnut. When you get to transition, stick your toes in then just roll them right up on your feet! I call them sock biscuits – work like a charm!
