Who/what shares your home with you: Sydney (age 7), Dylan (age 3 1/2), Tommy (my husband), Spanner (short for Star Spangled Banner- a geriatric golden retriever born on July 4th),Spridel (geriatric mutt who has gone totally deaf, named after Speed Racer’s brother)

Years in triathlon:

I just finished my “rookie” season. I had participated in all three activities at different points in time, but never in combination.

Where do you stand on coffee:

Tea over coffee any day. I drink decaf on occasion, but refer to seasonal Gingerbread Lattes as “crack” because they are so good, and so bad for you.

Favorite race:

Hmmm…ask me after I have done a few more! I liked the challenge of an ocean swim at the Make-a-Wish tri in Bethany Beach, Delaware.

What’s one trait that you hate about yourself:

I’m awful with names. I can recognize almost any voice on the phone (from any point in my life), but am horrible with names.

Favorite pre-race food:

Luna Bars

Chocolate or salted chips?

Chocolate covered pretzels?!

Triathlon goals for 2010:

My first half ironman.

Advice you would give to a new triathlete:

Use your resources. Triathletes are such an inclusive group- the love of the sport and willingness to help others is almost ovewhelming. Set reasonable goals for yourself and work your way up. Consider attending a tri camp or joining your local tri club and taking advantage of those resources
